'Loving kindness' in the Bible
Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men!
For thy lovingkindness is great above the heavens; And thy truth reacheth unto the skies.
But deal thou with me, O Jehovah the Lord, for thy name's sake: Because thy lovingkindness is good, deliver thou me;
Help me, O Jehovah my God; Oh save me according to thy lovingkindness:
Not unto us, O Jehovah, not unto us, But unto thy name give glory, For thy lovingkindness, and for thy truth's sake.
For his lovingkindness is great toward us; And the truth of Jehovah endureth for ever. Praise ye Jehovah.
Oh give thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
Let the house of Aaron now say, That his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
Let them now that fear Jehovah say, That his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
Oh give thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
The earth, O Jehovah, is full of thy lovingkindness: Teach me thy statutes.
Let, I pray thee, thy lovingkindness be for my comfort, According to thy word unto thy servant.
LAMEDH. Quicken me after thy lovingkindness; So shall I observe the testimony of thy mouth.
Deal with thy servant according unto thy lovingkindness, And teach me thy statutes.
Hear my voice according unto thy lovingkindness: Quicken me, O Jehovah, according to thine ordinances.
Consider how I love thy precepts: Quicken me, O Jehovah, according to thy lovingkindness.
O Israel, hope in Jehovah; For with Jehovah there is lovingkindness, And with him is plenteous redemption.
Oh give thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
Oh give thanks unto the God of gods; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
Oh give thanks unto the Lord of lords; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
To him who alone doeth great wonders; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
To him that by understanding made the heavens; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
To him that spread forth the earth above the waters; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
To him that made great lights; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
The sun to rule by day; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever;
The moon and stars to rule by night; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
To him that smote Egypt in their first-born; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever;
And brought out Israel from among them; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever;
With a strong hand, and with an outstretched arm; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
To him that divided the Red Sea in sunder; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever;
And made Israel to pass through the midst of it; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever;
But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red Sea; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
To him that led his people through the wilderness; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
To him that smote great kings; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever;
And slew famous kings; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
Sihon king of the Amorites; For his lovingkindness endureth forever;
And Og king of Bashan; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever;
And gave their land for a heritage; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever;
Even a heritage unto Israel his servant; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
Who remembered us in our low estate; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever;
And hath delivered us from our adversaries; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
Who giveth food to all flesh; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
Oh give thanks unto the God of heaven; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
I will worship toward thy holy temple, And give thanks unto thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: For thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
Jehovah will perfect that which concerneth me: Thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, endureth for ever; Forsake not the works of thine own hands.
Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; For in thee do I trust: Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; For I lift up my soul unto thee.
And in thy lovingkindness cut off mine enemies, And destroy all them that afflict my soul; For I am thy servant.
My lovingkindness, and my fortress, My high tower, and my deliverer; My shield, and he in whom I take refuge; Who subdueth my people under me.
Jehovah is gracious, and merciful; Slow to anger, and of great lovingkindness.
Jehovah taketh pleasure in them that fear him, In those that hope in his lovingkindness.
And a throne shall be established in lovingkindness; and one shall sit thereon in truth, in the tent of David, judging, and seeking justice, and swift to do righteousness.
In overflowing wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting lovingkindness will I have mercy on thee, saith Jehovah thy Redeemer.
For the mountains may depart, and the hills be removed; but my lovingkindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall my covenant of peace be removed, saith Jehovah that hath mercy on thee.
but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he hath understanding, and knoweth me, that I am Jehovah who exerciseth lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith Jehovah.
For thus saith Jehovah, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament, neither bemoan them; for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith Jehovah, even lovingkindness and tender mercies.
Jehovah appeared of old unto me,'saying , Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
who showest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them; the great, the mighty God, Jehovah of hosts is his name;
the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that say, Give thanks to Jehovah of hosts, for Jehovah is good, for his lovingkindness endureth for ever; and of them that bring'sacrifices of thanksgiving into the house of Jehovah. For I will cause the captivity of the land to return as at the first, saith Jehovah.
And I prayed unto Jehovah my God, and made confession, and said, Oh, Lord, the great and dreadful God, who keepeth covenant and lovingkindness with them that love him and keep his commandments,
And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in justice, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies.
and rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto Jehovah your God; for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
And he prayed unto Jehovah, and said, I pray thee, O Jehovah, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I hasted to flee unto Tarshish; for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness, and repentest thee of the evil.
Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth over the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in lovingkindness.
Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the lovingkindness to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.
